METHOD

THE 4 P’s

PEOPLE + PLACE + PROCESS = PRODUCT

We believe in supporting, even glorifying BEST PRACTITIONERS & BEST PRACTICES in Seafood. We are EVANGELISTS! Our goal is to be a RISING TIDE for these people, places and process.

EXPERIENCES

We consider the ways we bring people together to be the highest expression of our purpose & passion. When likeminded people gather, ideas are shared and they grow. Myths are busted. GROWTH occurs. Bringing people together for cuisine, hospitality & storytelling creates PRESENCE. And it is no coincidence that the word PRESENT is synonymous with GIFT.

CULINARY SIMPLICITY & HOSPITALITY EXCELLENCE

If you can put something colorful, delicious, sustainable and healthy in someones belly while you guide them to think, laugh, interact with others, be seen, heard & PRESENT, they’ll LOVE IT. Ergo, it becomes THEIR IDEA that Protecting the People, Place & Process the Product comes from is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. Source the best product, care for it perfectly & do as little to it as possible. That’s our purpose. Then serve it in a way that delivers maximum DISCOVERY, NUTRITION & FUN. Always EDU-tain, never “lecture “. Always guide, never tell…when explaining an aquacultural technique or a wine pairing. Simply, be a gracious host.

STORYTELLING - GUIDE

Experiences & Hospitality allow us to tell stories about the people, places & processes that bring us these extraordinary products. We aim to use all platforms to be a rising tide and best celebrate the History, Culture, Cuisine, Economy & Ecology of Seafood, past, present & future.

MESSAGE

SEAFOOD ONCE SAVED HUMANITY! MAYBE IT CAN AGAIN.

Access to Seafood Saved HUMANITY FROM EXTINCTION WHEN OUR SPECIES WAS New, around 75,000-150,000 years old.

Paleo-Anthropological evidence suggests that as few as 1200 individuals survived a period of natural cooling and desertification in central Africa that pushed early populations of Homo Sapiens south. This is why ALL human DNA is almost identical. This evolutionary bottleneck that we survived was fed by what we foraged at low tide. Therefore, our connection to these foods is primal and metaphysical.

OUR NEW SPECIES WAS FORCED TO MIGRATE SOUTH AND, after 50,000 years or so, THEY SAW THE OCEAN FOR THE FIRST TIME. 70,000 - 100,000 years ago some of our earliest ancestors FOUND THAT foragING for shellfish was MUCH EASIER and safter than the old ways of hunting. Populations grew. LEISURE TIME EXPANDED. ART WAS BORN IN THE CREATIONS WE FIND IN THESE CAVES TODAY.

Food is as precious a resource as air and water. We must treat it as such. Seafood is a particularly precious as per its nutrients, protein, iodine, zinc and more. However, it is ever-increasingly hard to access. And it can be a very expensive form of protein. For all these reasons, it must be understood, cherished and stewarded to the greatest possible degree. Our goal is to BUILD UNDERSTANDING, APPRECIATION & VALUE in all seafoods. And it starts with habitat. If we dont protect that, entire cultures will disappear, economies will fail and cuisine will become less diverse and healthy. History will not look upon us kindly if we squander this glorious gift and all that it has made possible for humanity.

Mankind is the only animal that blushes. OR NEEDS TO!”
