In 2017 Empire Oyster Founder Kevin joseph saw a boaT WHILE STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING IN TIERRA VERDE, FL…

…and knew right then and there he wanted to buy it. His dream was to refit it and operate it as a seagoing Oyster Bar featuring the finest oyster service as well as top quality Marine Cuisine™ & DelicaSEAS™.

The dream is coming true. Kevin purchased the vessel in February 2019. He is now preparing it for service and a delivery to Huntington, LI where it will operate in the Summer of 2019.

ABOUT THE VESSEL

Currently named Dare 2 Dream, RAW BARGE is a 52’ Tug Boat built in 1959 in Louisiana. She turns 60 in 2019 and we plan to celebrate that with the plan below. She makes 6 knots @ 1200 RPM and is powered by a single Detroit 6-71 Diesel. She’s an Iron Maiden, made of steel and weights 50 tons. She sleeps up to 8 and has a 30’ x 12’ Topside Deck above the Salon which houses a galley, dining room and head. She also has 2 staterooms for Captain, Crew or Guests.
